Suspect Charged in Post-Threesome Murder

Ikonomidis was killed in Brooklyn Monday morning.

Park Slope, Brooklyn–The New York Post  broke the news Tuesday morning that Christopher Membreno, 24, had been arrested in connection with the murder of Manos Ikonomidis, a young man who had been brutally beaten and stabbed to death in Brooklyn early Monday morning. According to The Post  Membreno has been charged with the murder, though reports have indicated that two other men were involved in the fatal beating and stabbing that took place after a threesome went wrong.

The New York Daily News reported late Monday that a threesome in a 20-year-old man, Manos Ikonomidis, had been beaten and stabbed to death in Park Slope after a complicated series of events and some alleged false allegations.

Ikonomidis was reportedly attempting to participate in a sexual threesome with another man, Jack Doherty, 21, and an unnamed woman. Reportedly, one of the men attempted to video the encounter against the woman’s wishes and she called it off. It is still not clear which of the men was attempting to film, with different outlets reporting alternatively that it was Ikonomidis and Doherty.

Doherty reportedly drove the woman home to Staten Island from his apartment in Brooklyn, where the three were, after she put an end to the threesome, leaving Ikonomidis alone. Neighbors reported to the Daily News that the woman then told her boyfriend, who was not involved in the three some,  that she had been raped. Police at this time assert that they believe the encounter between Ikonomidis, Doherty and the unnamed woman was consensual.

The woman’s boyfriend, however, reportedly contacted Ikonomidis’ girlfriend, who was not involved in the threesome either, via Instagram, stating: “your boyfriend f—ed up and will be taken care of.” Ikonomidis’ girlfriend arrived on the scene later Monday morning and was visibly upset.

Ikonomidis, left alone at Doherty’s apartment, was reportedly ambushed as soon as he stepped out of it and chased by three men, two white and one black. There is reportedly security footage of Ikonomidis being chased. He was beaten with a metal bat and stabbed three times, according to reports. He managed to drag himself to a neighbor’s door before collapsing and allegedly asked her not to call 911. He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Reports indicate that Doherty was being questioned by police but is not considered a suspect in Ikonomidis’ death. Police may have also been questioning one other man, as yet unidentified. It is unclear if the man that was reportedly being questioned was Membreno or someone else.

Ikonomidis was 20-years-old and was described by his neighbors as sweet and always willing to help out. He reportedly wanted to pursue a career in the music industry.
