The Hot Zone had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful boutique hotel recently for our PR & Marketing Director Adrienne Brown’s big 40th birthday celebration on a Saturday night. We had such a memorable experience that we will never forget. As soon as we walked in, the door man greeted us with a smile and asked us if we needed any help with our luggage. The receptionist was equally as courteous and professional, and to our delight they alerted us that we would be staying in the Grand King Suite. You feel like royalty the minute you walk in the hotel, and that is a feeling you won’t get in too many NYC hotels.
Our room was on the 9th floor and when we put the key card in and opened the door, we were met with such an impressive scene. A bottle of wine and delicious chocolate were on the dining room table, both just waiting to be consumed. The living room was a nice size with a flat screen TV, couch with Queen size sofa bed, small dining room table, and kitchenette. This Grand King Suite fills the complete apartment needs of anyone who is looking for all the amenities of their own home with a fridge, sink, stove and microwave which came in handy for our pre-birthday festivities with appetizers and cocktails before our dinner out on the town.
As we entered the bedroom there was a King size bed which by the way was so soft and comfortable, I didn’t want to get out of it Sunday morning. Two huge windows overlooking East 54th street and Park Ave. A beautiful chandelier with an automatic dimmer, a flat screen TV and a writing desk. The hardest thing about staying at the Hotel Elysée is trying to figure out whether to go outside and enjoy the outdoor NYC activities or stay inside and enjoy all the amenities they offer. It’s a toss-up, but we enjoyed the best of both worlds.
After we settled in the room and dropped off our bags, it was time to hit the Club Room for some fine wine and cheese. Guests enjoy a complimentary wine & hors d’oeuvre reception every evening from 5pm – 8pm. Complimentary afternoon tea, coffee, cookies and whole fruits are available to our guests in the Club Room throughout day. This is a perfect way to unwind a bit and kick-start your night in NYC where you get to meet plenty of nice people and engage in some entertaining conversations. We met and conversed with guests from Philadelphia, Denver etc. Everyone is pleasant and generally interested in getting to know and talk to one another.
Sunday morning after a long but exciting Saturday night out in the city celebrating Adrienne’s big birthday night at the beautiful Ascent Lounge, naturally we woke up hungry. Luckily for us, breakfast is served daily in the Club Room Monday – Friday 7 am – 10:30 am; Saturday & Sunday 7 am – 11 am. There are a variety of selections like hot oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, fresh whole fruit and fruit salad with melon and berries, whole wheat toast, assorted croissants, mini-muffins, Danish and scones, bagels with cream cheese, peanut butter, preserves and butter, fresh orange, apple and cranberry juice, assorted cereals, assorted yogurt, and a selection of international coffees and teas. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day to get you started, so we definitely took full advantage of the delicious Continental breakfast provided.
Hotel Elysée is the best boutique hotel in NYC without a doubt! It’s also the most romantic hotel in New York City by far. The hotel was built during the roaring 1920’s and has had the pleasure of hosting a multitude of celebrity guests such as Joe DiMaggio, Sydney Poitier, and more. Along with hosting numerous famous guests the hotel has also been featured in various TV shows such as MadMen and Sex In The City.
