An 18-year old woman has been arrested after she crashed her car on Friday, left her 14-year old sister dead and then live-streamed the incident on her Instagram account.
The incident occurred in California, in which Obdulia Sanchez drove under the influence, with her younger sister Jacqueline Sanchez and another passenger, who has not been identified.
The video shows the car rolling over a barbed wire fence and into a field. Her sister died at the scene. The woman then continues talking to the camera while her sister lays dead. The other passenger in the car is seen waving for help.
“Jacqueline, please wake up. I f****** killed my sister, OK? I know I’m going to jail for life. I love my sister… this is the last thing I thought was going to happen to us,” the woman says to the camera. “I killed my sister, but I don’t care. I killed my sister. I know I’m going to prison, but I don’t care. I’m sorry baby. I’m a hold it down.”
The accident occurred at 6:45pm on Friday and according to Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke, the 14-year old was not wearing a seatbelt, and was thrown through the back window of the car.
The 18-year old woman was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries and is now in the Merced County Jail. She faces charges of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence and DUI.
