A Man Housing 12 Girls Charged With Sexual Assualt…Thanks to A Concerned Neighbor

“They’re so sad and fearful every time I see them. That’s what made me call,” she said Saturday. “I’ve been telling my husband for years ‘Something isn’t right, something isn’t right.'”

Lee Kaplan, age 51 of Feasterville, Pa. has been charged with 12 counts of sexual assault on girls that have been living with him for quite some time. One girl was reportedly given to the man by parents that didn’t want her. A neighbor, Jen Betz held suspicions for years saying the girls always looked scared and sad. She recalled the windows having boards on them and the weeds being very high.

Police acting on Jens information Thursday found 51-year-old Lee Kaplan at his home with the girls, ranging in age from six months to 18 years. The 18-year-old then explained to police that she has a 6 month old and a 3 year old with the 51-year-old man. Kaplan now faces charges including statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and aggravated indecent assault.

The parents of the girl assaulted by Kaplan says they were going to lose their farm until Kaplan “came out of the blue and saved them from financial ruin.” Another girls parents said he researched the giving of his child away online. The 18 year old’s parents told he police that the other nine girls were their children also, but there were no birth certificates or other evidence to confirm her story. They are searching for the other children’s parents, but they will all probably have to undergo a DNA test.

Authorities have received a search warrant for the home and have been searching with police dogs for evidence. Daniel Stoltzfus, is the father of the eldest girl and is charged with conspiracy of statutory sexual assault and children endangerment. Savilla Stoltzfus, his wife is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. They are reportedly of Amish faith but denounced it following a dismissed lawsuit against their Amish community church.

The couple and Kaplan are being held on a $1 million bail. All of the children are together in protective custody. They were said to be well-behaved just scared and in no type of trauma. They were not in school and have no record of visited the Doctors office regularly.
