Star of HBO’s Entourage Adrian Grenier sparked Internet outrage this weekend after a seemingly controversial Instagram post regarding the innocent lives lost on the 9/11 attacks.
The post, which has since been deleted, said: “R.I.P. the 2,996 Americans who died in 9/11. R.I.P. the 1,455,590 innocent Iraqis who died during the U.S. invasion for something they didn’t do.” Below is a snapshot taken before its removal.
Americans responded negatively towards the post, calling the actor a ‘coward’ and ‘ignorant’. Some have even suggested that it will lead to the end of his career.
The 39-year-old actor is best known as portraying Hollywood actor Vincent Chase in HBO’s Entourage. The show ran for seven seasons between 2004-2011, and a spin-off film was released earlier this year. It was met with criticism after appearing sexist and homophobic.
Grenier has not commented publically about the post.
