Tony Award-winning actor, Roger Rees, died Friday night at his New York home, from a brief illness, according to his representative, Rick Miramontez. The 71 year old’s sickness began when he had to leave a performance in late May to go through a medical procedure.
Rees is known for his roles on Broadway including, “The Addams Family” and “The Visit. “Rees also had roles on television including, “Elementary” and “The Good Wife.”The famous actor was best known for his on-stage performances in, “The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby” in England and on Broadway, and won the Olivier Award and then the Tony Award for those performances.
Rees also served as a artistic director for the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts from 2004 to 2007. He has a husband, Rick Elice.
