The in-laws of actress and former Miss USA Ali Landry were found dead in Mexico, according to officials.
Landry’s film director husband Alejandro Monteverde’s father and brother, Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, were found near the town of Pueblo Viejo, on September 19.
Fernández and Monteverde had suffered dramatic brain trauma and had been dead for multiple days before the bodies were found and identified by relatives. Fernández and Monteverde had been reported kidnapped on September 4, according to USA Today.
Allegedly, a vehicle that was used by the kidnappers was found and the attorney general’s office is undergoing an investigation.
Landry was crowned Miss USA representing Louisiana in 1996. She also starred as the “Doritos Girl” in Doritos’ famous 1998 Super Bowl commercial, and was briefly married to Mario Lopez in 2004, according to USA Today.
Many friends of Monteverde shared some kind words on social media after the tragic incident. They spoke of the murders of his relatives along with the drug-related violence in South America.
