By now everyone has seen the viral video of the Alaska reporter dropping the F bomb on air and quitting at the same time. The video has gained tons of media attention, and as expected, stirred up tons of controversy.
Former KTVA news anchor, Charlo Greene, quit the news channel to continue her fight to legalize marijuana in Alaska. Reportedly, the decision was made after she was served with a temporary restraining order two weeks ago following complaints from her neighbor about the building smelling like marijuana ever since she moved in. The aroma became so potent, that it eventually made the neighbors daughter ill. Charlo and her boyfriend Peter who was living with her at the time, left the building and were ordered to stay 20 feet away from the property. Charlo obviously didn’t take it very well, and strongly believes in her cause, so she presented a segment about legalizing marijuana and the Alaska Cannabis Club on KTAVA. Later she revealed that she is the owner of the club, dropped the F bomb, and quit on air. She said: “And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f*** it, I quit.”
Some found her resignation hilarious and effective, while others weren’t too pleased with the outburst. KTVA took to Twitter to apologize for her outburst on air: “Viewers, we sincerely apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter on the air tonight. The employee has been terminated.”
Charlo recently posted a Youtube video, explaining why she decided to quit:
