Celine Dion might have done the performance of her life last night by singing Edith Piaf´s love song “Hymne a L´Amour” as a tribute to Paris.
Being part french herself, the singer was accompanied by a small orchestra while the screen behind her were serenaded with landmarks from Paris. Several audience members were clearly moved by Dion´s powerful voice, and the message she sent honoring the 130 victims who lost their lives in the attacks on November 13.
Towards the end of the song pictures from the tragic events appeared on the screen, finishing it all of with the Eiffel Tower lighted up in colors and a well deserved standing ovation.
