The people of San Francisco keep finding wads of cash in hidden places around the city. It’s sort of like the lottery and a little more fair, if you will. The anonymous man has dumped several envelopes of cash and does not plan to stop anytime soon. On the envelopes containing money inside has writing telling people to “tweet @HiddenCash if you find the cash, follow us”.
The person behind all of this who uses the Twitter handle @HiddenChash, has been leaving envelopes stuffed with $20 and $100 bills around the city since Friday, tweeting out the locations in a scavenger hunt that has thousands thirsty for more.
HiddenCash’s few hundred followers on Friday went up to more than 11,000+. So who is this mystery person?
“I just closed a real estate deal where my profit was about half-a-million dollars, and I decided even before it closed that one of the things I wanted to do with the money was something fun in SF,” the mysterious man said in an e-mail interview.
HiddenCash said he chose the scheme because of how simple and fun it was and may have some friends helping out with the cash drops.
