Looks like Queen B is in trouble.
Beyoncé has been hit with copyright infringements for her song “Drunk in Love.” Monika Juhasz Miczura, better known as Mitsou, is now asking for unspecified damages in a Manhattan Supreme Court suit filed late last week after she claims that the exciting opening vocals to the song wasn’t sampled. Beyoncé never asked for permission to use Mitsou’s vocals.
“Mitsou never gave permission or consent, and never granted any of the Defendants permission, to use her voice for any purpose,” said the court document, which also named Beyonce’s husband Jay Z and producer Timbaland.
She also stated that the vocals were manipulated.
It would be interesting to see how Beyoncé and Jay Z handle this.
