Brock Turner’s ridiculously short prison sentence has already come to an end.
On Friday morning, Turner was released from the Santa Clara County Main Jail, after he was sentenced to six months behind bars for raping an unconscious student at his old college, Stanford University.
Turner only served three months of the sentence but was released early due to good behavior.
The former Stanford swimmer is now expected to return to Ohio to live with his parents.
Turner’s early release comes just days after Stanford University announced its ban of hard liquor from underage parties, in hopes of preventing more sexual assaults.
The news of Turner’s early release should not have come as a shock to anyone. He was already privileged to not have to serve a possible 14-year sentence behind bars, so his early release seemed to be a given.
Due to his vile crime, early release never should have been an option for Turner, but unfortunately, he is now a free man.
