A Brooklyn candy store was raided on Thursday by NYPD and found a narcotics dealing operation in their back door. A narcotics team seized over $100,000 worth of cocaine and heroin.
The police made the discovery during a routine inspection of untaxed cigarettes by a Department of Finance in the Bushwick neighborhood on Wednesday night. The team then came back on Thursday morning to Gates Candy & Grocery with a search warrant at 9:30 a.m.
In addition, the drug, paraphernalia, was also found during the raid. The drug was used in a million glassine envelopes, which is used to package heroin. The powerful prescription painkiller, fentanyl, was found in several blue bags, which was used to cut and enhance heroin.
2 men have been arrested for the crime. There is also a thought that the candy store were supplying the drugs in Brooklyn and Queens.
