Lately, numerous stories have been circulating about how nobody wants to play with Kobe Bryant but Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks said that had no influence in his decision not to sign with the Lakers in the off season.
Anthony told ESPN, “If I thought that [playing for the Lakers] was the right situation for me from an overall perspective as far as having a team there, then I would have looked at the situation more in-depth. I just felt more comfortable staying in New York. But as far as playing with him … I’m here now but I would always love to play with Kobe.”
Although there are guys who think Bryant can be difficult to play with, I’m sure there are many who would love to learn from the legend. So maybe there is still hope for Bryant to attract a bigger name to join him in Los Angeles, but he better start recruiting fast as his time in the NBA is slowly coming to an end.
The Lakers play their first game of the season on Tuesday at home against the Houston Rockets.
