The body of legendary radio host, Casey Kasem, was reported missing from a Washington funeral home. Kasem’s agent reveals the body has been moved to Canada.
Don Pitts said the body was flown to Canada by Casey’s wife Jean after being kept at the Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, Wash. since his death on Jun. 15.
A spokesperson for Kasem’s three eldest children explained that while Jean has the legal right to move his remains without notifying the rest of the family, the kids are not happy to have been kept in the dark.
The spokesperson told the Daily News, “Right now, she’s not divulging that location. For what reasons, I don’t know.”
One day after the body had already been moved, a judge forbade the removal of his remains from the Washington funeral home based on a request by Casey’s daughter Kerri.
It was stated that an autopsy could provide key evidence in the ongoing elder abuse investigation being conducted against Jean.
The court case is the latest in a long-running feud between Casey’s children from his first marriage and second wife Jean.
The transportation of his body to Canada has surely made matters worse, considering the 82-year-old had expressed his desire to be buried at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, Calif.
Before his death, Jean had been married to Casey since 1980 and the couple had one child, Liberty, together.
