Oscar winner, Cate Blanchett, signed up for an upcoming biopic of the phenomenal 1950’s TV comic and star of the classic sitcom, I Love Lucy, according to a report from Variety.
Emmy and Academy Award-winning screenwriter, Aaron Sorkin, who worked behind “The Social Network” among many other films and creator of TV’s “The West Wing,” is in talks to write the script, according to ABC.
The film, produced by the comedian’s children Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., will focus on Ball’s marriage to their father, Cuban bandleader Desi Arnaz, with whom Ball created and co-starred in I Love Lucy.
The pair also created the successful Desilu Production company.
Ball was not just the beauty but the brains behind I Love Lucy on which she starred with real-life husband Desi Arnaz, and greatly became the first woman ever to run a major television studio.
In addition, with Blanchett in its starring role, this biopic is already an ultimate deal which means it really needs the right guy in the role of Ball’s leading man as Desi!!
