The biggest mass shooting occurred at a gay nightclub in Orlando this weekend, leaving 49 dead and 53 injured. Omar Mateen opened fire with a handgun and an AR-15 assault rifle at 2 a.m. and he was then killed by police around 5:35 a.m.

Survivor, Joshua McGill, a nursing student, hid under a car and found Rodney Sumter with 3 gunshot wounds. McGill tore off his shirt and compressed his wounds. He then later wrote on Facebook, “’Words cannot and will not describe the feeling…. being covered in blood. Trying to save a guy’s life.”

Rob Rick, another survivor, crawled to the DJ booth and hid behind an “Employees Only” room. Another woman hid in the bathroom and covered herself with dead bodies. A bartender hid behind the bar until police came and said, “If you are alive, raise your hand.”

Names are still being released from the deceased and loved ones are left waiting.
