The Chris Brown saga continues.
As reported yesterday, former beauty queen Baylee Curran called the police and accused the 27-year-old singer of pulling a gun on her, after she admired a piece of his friend’s jewelry. This led to an 11-hour stand-off between Brown and Los Angeles police outside of his home.
After the “Forever” singer surrendered, he was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon. He was later released on $250,000 bail.
However, could Brown have been worried about Curran stealing the necklace due to her previous run in with the law? According to TMZ, Curran and some friends were vacationing at The Plaza in New York City back in 2013. After an argument between the girls broke out, Curran, allegedly, snatched a $1,000 Louis Vuitton purse from one of the girls and took off running. The purse contained $200 in cash, credit cards and a Michael Kors wallet.
While security was chasing Curran, she dropped the purse, but took off running with what was inside of it.
Neither security nor police were able to catch Curran that day, but there was an I-Card issued for her. This means that NYPD cops can pick her up and question her about this incident, if they find her in the city.
The woman whose purse Curran, allegedly, took off with later got a restraining order against Curran in Los Angeles.
Curran, on the other hand, maintained her innocence. A rep for her stated that it was one of the other girls who took off with the purse, not Curran.
Both parties seem to be in the wrong in this whole mess. Brown was, obviously, way out of line for pulling a gun on her. Although, this should not be too surprising, since he has a history of being overly violent towards women.
But, Brown may have heard about Curran’s alleged theft incident, so he could have been even more inclined to believe she may try to steal the necklace.
Regardless of what the truth is, both Brown and Curran are likely to keep this news story going in the days to come.
