The 26 year old singer just cant seem to catch a break these days. Back in September, there was rumors going on that Australian government wanted to deny Chris Brown entry based on the Rihanna case.
A spokesman for Immigration Minister, Peter Dutton, stated earlier this year that “People to whom these notices are issues have 28 days to present material as to why they should be given a visa to enter Australia”. Brown´s lawyer were unable to persuade Australian government, as even the Prime Minister had voiced opposition to letting him in the country.
A petition against the singer was formed by a group called GetUp where nearly 15,000 people signed. The campaign took a backlash after being accused of rasist insinuations, the group stated an official apology saying “We now understand the campaign also supported a racist narrative that sees men of color unfairly targeted, and stereotyped as more violent than their white counterparts”.
Brown´s tour promoter says the dates will be rescheduled, but fans Down Under should not expect to see the “Back To Sleep” singer anytime soon.
Look at what Senator Michaelia Cash said about the matter back in September below.
