The Dallas Cowboys made a splash during free agency. It’s too bad that he’s not available for ten games.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that defensive end Greg Hardy has been suspended for ten games without pay for for conduct detrimental to the league. Hardy has been accused of assaulting his girlfriend Nicole Holder four times.
Goodell explained his reasoning for suspending Hardy based on events that happened between Holder and Hardy. He states that there was four instances where Hardy attacked his girl. He stated “First, he used physical force against her which caused her to land in a bathtub. Second, he used physical force against her which caused her to land on a futon that was covered with at least four semi-automatic rifles.”
“Third, he used physical force against her by placing his hands around Ms. Holder’s neck and applying enough pressure to leave visible marks. And fourth, he used physical force to shove Ms. Holder against a wall in his apartment’s entry hallway.”
Goodell also stated that Nicole was traumatized by the event.
Hardy is appealing the decision. If reduced, he may make his Dallas Cowboys debut against his former team the Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving night.
