“Never let the streets shatter your dream!”
That was Meek Mill’s response to the death of friend and protege Dex Osama. Osama, an up-and-coming rapper out of Detroit, was reportedly shot and killed outside of the Crazy Horse Strip Club early Monday morning. It is speculated that an unidentified shooter pulled the gun in the midst of a fight that began outside of the club, which also left two others injured.
There are limited details regarding the incident, but Meek Mill took to his Instagram to mourn his loss. He captioned a picture of the two, “Damn RIP YOUNGIN… had a lot of talks with you about getting out them streets and chasing ya dreams! I really believed in you and seen you putting on for Detroit.”
Dex Osama just recently signed a recording deal with Meek Mill after catching his attention with his video for the song “Heavy.” The video made headlines just a few months back after Osama fired off a gun during the filming. He is most known for this song and “Death On Me,” which you can listen to below.
Our prayers and condolences go out to the family and friends of those close to the rapper.
