Sean Combs, Puff Daddy, Diddy, Diddy Dirty Money, or whatever you choose to call him has announced that Bad Boy Entertainment will be partnering with Epic Records for marketing, promotion, distribution, and sales purposes.
Though Bad Boy music hasn’t exactly been flourishing with Machine Gun Kelly and Montana as the highlights of the label, Puff Daddy (his true alias), did inform us some time ago that he wouldn’t stop, and has remained true to his word. Teaming up with Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid could be huge for Puffy’s floundering record label.
In a statement, Reid called Puff Daddy his longtime friend with whom he has enjoyed incredible success with. Acknowledging Puffy’s greatness, Reid continued “Today of course [he] is truly in a league of his own, continuing to influence the culture and ignite musical revolutions time and time again. He’s a true innovator and I could not be more excited to join forces once again.”
One of the albums that Epic Records is rumored to be distributing for Puffy is No Way Out II, but we’ll see. Or maybe we will find out at the BET Awards on October 13, where Diddy will be performing new music to celebrate this partnership.
“To work now with L.A. in this capacity feels more like a homecoming more than a new beginning…[He] understands music better than anyone,” said Puffy.
Two labels. Two musical geniuses. One force. It could be magic.
