Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested on Monday for three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count was of making terrorist threats and one count of battery.
The incident reportedly occurred on the UCLA campus, where his son Justin Combs is a defensive back for the school’s football team, the Bruins.
Apparently, Diddy’s son was kicked out of a workout session on Monday morning by the strength and conditioning coach, Sal Alosi. Alosi claimed that Combs was not putting in the necessary effort. Diddy then angrily entered coach Alosi’s office in UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex where witnesses reported that the artist was cursing at the coach and that he eventually attacked Alosi.
Diddy was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon because when another personnel got him off of the coach and brought him into the weight room, Diddy picked up a kettlebell (a type of weight) and started swinging it around.
Nobody was seriously injured and the police are investigating the case further. Reports indicate that Alosi walked away with some scratches and a torn shirt.
UCLA released no further details as head coach Jim Mora said, “We will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”
Combs’ bail was set at $160,000 and the artist will appear in court next month. He was released from jail late Monday night.
