Lock the doors. Put security bars on the windows. Hide yourself, your family, and everyone else you love because The Purge is happening again! That’s right. Director and writer, James DeMonaco, confirmed that The Purge 3 is  is currently in development.

This isn’t a surprise considering the amount of success the other two films had. The Purge: Anarchy surpassed the original film’s gross. The first film earned $91 million , while the sequel succeeded even DeMonaco’s expectations, with $110 million. Universal, Blum House, and Platinum Dunes have begun development on the third film.

DeMonaco, stated “I never imagined that The Purge would become the phenomenon it has become and I am thrilled to continue my collaboration with Blumhouse, Sebastien Lemercier, Platinum Dunes and the great team at Universal in building The Purge into a worldwide franchise.” A prosepctive release date has not been announced at this time.
