Arnold Klein friend and doctor to Michael Jackson died on Thursday in Palm Springs, California. Klein who died wheelchair bound and penniless, according to Daily Mail, had been Jackson’s dermatologist for 25-years before Jackson’s death in 2009. Klein was the doctor who diagnosed Jackson with his alleged skin condition vitiligo, a disease that causes the skin to lose its pigment and color in patches.
Klein came under public and legal scrutiny after Jackson’s death. Klein had administered propofol to Jackson on many occasions and had knowledge of the pop stars rampant use of the drug. According to TMZ Klein had also injected Jackson with the drug Demerol 51 times in three months, the drug that ultimately lead to Jackson’s death. Klein was accused along with Dr. Conrad for contributing to Jackson’s death but was later cleared. Dr. Conrad, however, served two years of a four-year sentence as he injected Jackson within an hour of his death.
Klein later said in an interview about Jackson’s use of propofol, ‘‘I knew this problem existed. I did my best to prevent it. Whenever I could, but I’m only one man, and I have to support my own life and take care of myself.”
At one time Klein was the top doctor in Hollywood with an A-list clientele and had coined the nickname ‘’king of lips” for his expertise with collagen fillers. Klein later lost credibility in the eyes of his patients for speaking openly about Jackson’s personal life and alleged gay preferences after he died.
Klein had also hinted on several occasions that he was the biological father of Jackson’s oldest children Paris and Prince Jackson. Debbie Rowe the mother of the Jackson children was Klein’s medical assistant and introduced Jackson to Rowe.
According to Daily Mail in the wake of Michael’s death Klein said that he wanted to file for custody of both Paris and Prince the oldest of Jackson’s three children. But said soon after, ‘To the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children.“
Prince later tweeted, ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb; I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister.“ Prince’s ambiguous tweed still leaves the question open of whether Klein was his and Paris’ biological father.
