Lately, where Donald Trump is concerned, there are turbulent waters not far from the shore. This time, he’s taking shots at the reigning Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, but is he justified in his attack?
After Vega took to Instagram to express her displeased feelings with Trump’s recent comments regarding illegal immigrants in America, Trump took to Twitter to call her a hypocrite. After all, if she is that insulted by the comments and feels they are “unjust,” shouldn’t she give up her coveted crown given Trump’s involvement in the pageant? That’s what Trump seems to think.
However, Vega is less concerned with his involvement and more concerned with the work that Miss Universe does for other countries around the world.
Since Trump’s racially charged comments about Mexicans, he has spawned immense controversy surrounding his presidential campaign, resulting in his release from NBC and Univision, and has been the subject of angry responses from Mexican-American celebrities including actresses America Ferrara and Eva Longoria, and singer Becky G.
“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” he said. As if we needed to be reminded of his comments. There has been no remorse on his end, and it is no surprise he fired back at Vega so promptly. He has responded to his critics forcefully and there is no sign of Trump backing down from the comments he feels are truthful. We can only imagine that the Trump drama will not die down any time soon.
