Donald Trump could have a crucial job in mind for his daughter, Ivanka Trump.
While speaking with reporter Angelia Savage for First Coast News, the 2016 Republican nominee was asked which woman he had in mind to appoint to his cabinet, if he were elected president.
“I want to know just as a female, who you would actually put into office as one of the first females in your cabinet?” Savage asked.
The only woman Trump responded with was his daughter.
“Well there are so many different ones to choose, I can tell you everybody would say — ‘Put Ivanka in! Put Ivanka in!’ You know that, right?” the businessman explained.
“She’s very popular, she’s done very well. And you know Ivanka very well. But there really are so many that are talented people, like you,” he joked to Savage. “You’re so talented, I don’t know if your viewers know that.”
Trump is right that his daughter is popular to much of the public. Prior to choosing Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate, some Republican leaders felt as though Trump’s daughter would have made the best vice president.
“His best running mate by the way would be Ivanka,” said Tennessee Senator Bob Corker on NBC News. “I know that wouldn’t pass muster probably but I don’t know if I’ve met a more composed, brilliant, beautiful-in-every-way person.”
Trump’s daughter may be very well-liked by Americans, but popularity should not be enough of a reason to earn a position in a president’s cabinet. However, as Trump as shown in this presidential election, anything is possible.
