Sitora Yusufiy was married to the Orlando mass killer, Omar Mateen, and claimed that he had “gay tendencies. They were married for 3 months back in 2009 and said he was a frequent club-goer to the gay nightclub, Pulse, where the massacre took place.

She made the claim on a Brazilian television station, with her fiancé, Marco Dias, translating in Portuguese for her. She said that Mateen had romantically asked a former classmate out to the nightclub and have visited more than a dozen times. They used to go to gay bars all the time after attending class at Indian River Community College police academy in 2006. The classmate says he was not openly gay at the time, so he refused his offers.

Kristina McLaughlin, a drag queen who performs at the nightclub, says. “it’s the same guy, he’s been going to this bar for at least years.” McLaughlin’s husband, Ty Smith, also says that he would get loud and belligerent while intoxicated.

Around 4 clubgoers remembered seeing Mateen numerous times at Pulse in the past. Kevin West, who is a regular at Pulse, says that he sawMateen an hour before the shooting and said he regularly used gay dating apps and even contacted him through a gay dating app as well.

An Orlando man told MSNBC that he has seen Mateen’s photos on dating sites, such as, Grindr, Adam4Adam, and Jack’d. He also says that Mateen was very creepy in his messages and blocked contact with him.
