New York Rap group Wu-Tang Clan are currently under investigation for their alleged involvement in the 1999 murders of Jerome “Boo Boo” Estrella and Corey “Shank Bank” Brooker. Both murders were reportedly orchestrated by members of the Wu-Tang Clan.
A federal jury last year found brothers Anthony and Harvey Christian guilty of running a 20-year-old drug ring. The jury also found Anthony Christian guilty of organizing the murder of 17-year old Estrella. Anthony Christian later claims he was directed to kill both Estrella and Brooker by Wu-Tang Clan members.
Michael Gold the lawyer of Anthony Christian claims the FBI file points to Estrella’s killing “at the instruction of the Wu-Tang Clan” and wants the files pertaining to his murder and the murder of Brooker.
“These reports seem to suggest someone else was liable for those murders. I’m not suggesting that Wu-Tang committed these crimes. The FBI did,” Gold told the Advance Monday. “What I’m trying to ascertain is their stated belief in an official file that Wu-Tang ordered this homicide.”
The news that the group was linked to the murders originally came out when Bloods gang member turned police informant Brian Humphreys was pinned as the gunman in Estrella’s murder.
Before the murders ex drug supplier Paul Ford told Humphrey’s that Boo Boo said that he had robbed RZA’s brother and that members of the group would probably come after him for it.
Prosecutors believe that Anthony Christian ordered the death of Estrella and if Estrella robbed RZA’s brother it is only further cause for Christian wanting him dead.
