Leslie Jones had her icloud account hacked yesterday and had nude and personal photos of her released to the general public. The FBI is now on the case and will be investigating the hackers.
Jones gained some fame as a SNL actress and then her career skyrocketed after her appearance in this summer’s reboot of “Ghostbusters.” Jones endured a lot of online attacks this summer after she appeared in the movie. The online harassment forced her to quit Twitter after several people wrote and posted racist images abut her on Twitter. Some people sent her pictures of a gorilla. The hacker who got into her accounts put a video of Harambe on the top of her website. The hacker gained access to Leslie’s phone or iCloud and posted sexually explicit nude pics of the actress.
Many comedians and fans have shown support for Jones and wishing that the hackers be exposed and brought to justice.
Her Ghostbusters director, Paul Feig, issued an angry response: “What’s happening to @Lesdoggg is an absolute outrage. Alt right, haters, trolls, “comedians,” whoever the (expletive) you all are, you’re just sad.”
Anna Kendrick and Ellen Degeneres have also posted tweets supporting Jones.
Kendrick said; I was terrified when I did SNL. Leslie Jones went out of her way to be open, warm, friendly, funny all week. She is a GEM.
Degeneres also tweeted support saying; .@Lesdoggg you are beautiful & talented & bring laughter into a world that desperately needs it. You are also my friend & I support you.
Jones has not commented on the case.
