The Ferguson Rallies are still going.
People from all across the country are protesting the grand jury decision to not indict officer Darren Wilson for the fatal shooting of Michael Brown earlier this year. From New York City’s Times Square to Oakland, California they are protesting. More than 170 protests sprouted up across the country Tuesday. Some crowds blocked bridges, tunnels and major highways.
In New York, protesters stormed into Times Square and Union Square. In the process, they manage to block bridges, tunnels and major highways in New York (one of the highways was the FDR Drive). In Los Angeles, it’s more of the same. A stretch of the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles was temporarily shut down in both directions after protesters took road blocks from the streets and put them on the freeway.
Unlike the first night of the protest which destruction was everywhere, the second night seemed much more peaceful. Fewer arrest have been made and protesters weren’t turning over cars or lighting businesses on fire.
Some had handwritten notes on their chest stating the following: Black Lives Matter.
