This may be the first Red Nose Day in America, however, the three hour special on NBC is just a small part of what’s going on around the country. The annual charity event is focused on changing the lives of children and young adults living in poverty by raising funds for awareness with adding a sense of comic relief to it. It’s been usually celebrated by the UK, but it has spread its way over to America and is helping the cause. Many star figures have participated in this event by donating, or wearing a red nose. Celebrities that have worn red noses include Kim Kardashian, John Legend, Nick Cannon, Christina Aguilera, Julia Roberts, One Direction, Blake Shelton, Muhammad Ali, and throughout organizations like the Kansas City Chiefs and NBC New York.

According to their website, Red Nose Day has already earned over £78 million, which is over 122 million dollars, and its only getting stronger.
