Funkmaster Flex is no stranger to saying exactly what is on his mind. This time, he had a few things to say about Damon Dash’s Instagram posts about industry executives, which referred to them as “culture vultures”. The posts really ruffled Flex’s feathers. Earlier this week, he discussed his view on Dash’s posts, but didn’t release the audio to show respect. Needless to say, Flex changed that decision very quickly, and released the audio. In so many words, he said Dash was angry because he is no longer relevant in the music industry. Dash insisted on coming to HOT 97 and hashing it out with Flex but shockingly, Flex dismissed that idea.
Hear Flex’s 20 minute rant to Dash here:
Well, that didn’t prevent Dash from stating his opinion on Flex’s comments. He responded to Flex on the Combat Jack show. In the interview, he spoke out against other music executives such as Lyor Cohen and Joie Manda. He claimed they were investing in rap beefs and the lack of music that is being played. He didn’t stop there. He also called out Cohen for using Jay Z’s money for his personal being while he was an executive at Warner Brothers.
