ISIS has claimed responsibility for a mass stabbing in a Minnesota mall.
On Saturday, a man stabbed nine people at the Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud, Minn. Three of them are hospitalized, and one is in life-threatening condition.
The attacker was later shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.
Ashley Bayne, an employee of the JCPenney in the mall, described the incident as “really scary.”
“All of sudden chaos just broke out,” Bayne said, according to CNN. “There was a bunch of people running into the JCPenney mall entrance, and they were just screaming that someone was going around the mall stabbing people, and that there was blood everywhere. It was just honestly a really scary experience.”
Since the attack, an ISIS-linked news agency confirmed that the attacker was a “soldier of the Islamic state.”
St. Cloud Police Chief William Blair Anderson said things in his town will never be the same.
“It’s an awful day. We’ve got [nine] victims who were assaulted here in our mall … things wont be the same here,” Anderson said.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims in this attack.
