This Sunday, the NFL kicked off the start of their International Series at Wembley Stadium in London, England where the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets battled it out. This was the first time the Jets have participated in the International Series and the third time for the Dolphins.
In the first quarter of the game, the Jets were able to score first with a touchdown from three yards by Chris Ivory. Ivory would collectively run 166 yards in this game making it his ninth 100-yard career game. The Jets would get the kick from Nick Folk and would gain the lead at 10-0.
Miami was finally able to score in the second quarter, but only after Jets Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, threw for a completed 10-yard touchdown to Eric Decker, and Folk would get the kick for the extra points making it 20-0. Miami’s Ryan Tannehill would answer back after finally throwing an 8-yard pass to Jake Stoneburner, after a few pass interferences called, to cut the Jets lead and make the score 20-7.
The Jets would eventually add on another seven points, adding on to their lead against the Dolphins. The Dolphins would score one last time in the fourth quarter making the final score at Wembley Stadium with the New York Jets as the victors 27-14.
There are still two more games to be played at Wembley Stadium this year as part of the International Series. The Buffalo Bills will be playing the Jacksonville Jaguars for Week 8 (Oct 25) and Week 9 (Nov 1) the Detroit Lions will be playing the Kansas City Chiefs.
