THZ is sad to report that Julia Roberts’ mother, Betty Lou Motes, passed away on Thursday. She was 80-years-old.

Sources state that Betty lost a long, hard battle, with lung cancer. She was at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif. at the time of her passing. This is definitely a sad time for the family. Not only because of Betty’s pasing but alo due to the fatc that Feb. 9 marked one year since Nancy Motes ( Betty’s daughter and Julia’s half-sister ) committed suicide.
