Justin Timberlake apologized for being “racially insensitive” on Twitter concerning Jesse William’s powerful speech at the 2016 BET Awards that aired last night. Timberlake took to Twitter to express how inspired he was by the speech, but then got several negative tweets after being misunderstood.
The R&B singer was accused of “appropriating” black culture, and that is when Timberlake had the urge to respond, “Oh, you sweet soul. The more you realize that we are the same, the more we can have a normal conversation. Bye,”
Timberlake then clarified himself and meant “we are all one” as a “human race.” He then apologized on Twitter and said, “I apologize to anyone that felt I was out of turn. I have nothing but LOVE FOR YOU AND ALL OF US.”
