With New York Fashion Week well into its 5th day, Kanye West’s memorable Yeezy Season 3 showcase extravaganza, took place last night at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. The showcase itself was filled with many twists, bends and surprises.

Instead of having a typical fashion show, in Kanye West style, revealed his Yeezy Spring Collection along with his anticipated album ‘The Life of Pablo’ in front of 20,000 guests.

It was a star studded affair with the Kardashian sisters wearing clothes from his collection including his daughter North West. Lamar Odom made his first public appearance with Khloe Kardashian after being hospitalized. Their appearance together has sparked rumors of the separated couple rekindling their relationship.

Other celebs who attended included Rosie O’Donnell, Wale, Young Thug, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Tyga, ASAP Rocky, Jennifer Hudson among others. Even MC Hammer made an appearance.

The show opened with what seemed to be a brown parachute fabric that covered the stage. This feature intrigued the audience but the most intriguing part was the meaning behind it. Kanye West had used the stage to re-create the 1995 Paul Lowe photograph taken during the Rwandan genocide. To have Kanye incorporate such a deep historic event that took place in Africa, was quite impressive to say the least. This explains why the model’s faces looked somber, broken or plain ghostly. The subject itself was extremely heavy, which might explain why Kanye strayed from mentioning it throughout the night.

Kanye has always been the type of person to break boundaries, to do things outside the box even at the scrutiny of opposition, yet it’s his tunnel vision mentality that has set him apart.

His new collection introduced his fans to some new pieces which included a cropped bomber, lucite-heeled boots which also resemble the ones he had in season one and two.

At one point Kanye acknowledged: “You know, I think y’all might think that because I’m a celebrity and I rap that this sh** is easy to do. But one of the hardest things to do was to get the talented people that worked on the collection to believe in my vision.” He continued by saying “If you’re going to be an artist, you gotta do what’s in your heart. Fight for your dream. “

Kanye debuting his new album and his Spring collection wasn’t the cherry on top, instead he also managed to squeeze in a debut of his new video game “Only One” about his late mother which the audience got a glimpse of. The game was not only a new venture for Kanye, but one that was personal and dear to his heart.
