Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kendall Jenner opened up during her “Nightline” interview recently about how fame affected her during her parents’ highly publicized split, and how she’s learned to deal with unnecessary chatter.
“It sucked,” the reality star remarked about the separation. “But it’s not, I try to think of it as it’s not the worst thing that could have happened.”
Jenner exclusively released a statement to USWeekly last fall, saying she and Bruce Jenner were splitting after 22 years of marriage. The two, though, have remained committed to co-parenting Kendall and Kylie
“We have children together, and we have memories and holidays and traditions,” Kris told USMagazine, “I don’t want to give that up. I don’t want him to take that away from me and I don’t want to take that away from him.”
Kendall reiterated her close bond with her parents while speaking with Chang. “I still am so close with both my dad and my mom,” the model reflected. “Nothing has really changed, except for the fact that now my dad lives on a beach, which is awesome. That’s not that bad… everybody’s happy.”
Kendall added that while it was difficult to watch her parents’ split play out in the spotlight, she understands that scrutiny “comes with the territory” of fame.
“If you just ignore it and go on and you’re like, ‘I know what’s real,'” she told Nightline. “My family, my friends, they know what’s real. So what else, why does that matter?”
We are glad that Kendall is focusing on her career and that her family is still close no matter what.
