Things are not looking too good for Kesha. She had filed a lawsuit against her record label Sony Music requesting that her contract be ripped to shreds after she accused her then producer Dr. Luke of sexual, mental and physical abuse.
She appeared in front of a judge who ruled that her Sony contract will remain intact and that she would work with a different producer instead. As the ruling was made it is reported that Kesha wept openly, clearly devastated by the news. It is unknown if Dr. Luke will remain a producer at Sony Music since a ruling on the abuse charges has not been made.
It’s sad that to this day it is still difficult for women to fight for justice when it comes to issues such as abuse. When facing a large corporation, that fight becomes even more challenging. What complicated things for Kesha was the fact that she had signed a contract that might have had several disclaimers that prevented her from bailing out.
Despite all this drama, we hope that Kesha can move past this and go back to producing chart banging hits.
