Khloe Kardashian, star of the hit show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is being criticized over a selfie she snapped while visiting Dubai. The star, who is currently visiting the country, decided to put on a niqab which is a traditional attire that women in Muslim communities wear in accordance to their religious and cultural beliefs and snap a selfie which she later posted on.

Khloe captioned the image of her wearing the niqab “Habibi love” which means “my darling/baby” in Arabic. Almost immediately users began to attack the image and deemed it offensive. One user stated that it “isn’t a costume that you can just put on bc it makes your eyes look cool.” While others defended the reality star stating that maybe she was respecting the culture and it’s customs.

This is not the first time Khloe’s selfies have gotten her in trouble. She came under fire last year for posting a photo of herself in a Native American headdress, she also posted a photo of Scott Disick and their friend Chris Reda dressed in traditional Arabian clothing with the caption “Sheik Pu—“

She has yet to comment on this controversy but has addressed prior incidents on past episodes of her family’s hit show, saying “I’m really upset that I’ve offended anybody…I’m even more bothered that the commenters think I’m poking fun at their culture. I didn’t realize how offensive it was. I didn’t know I was doing anything wrong. I really just have to be more aware of what I write, even if I think it’s tongue in cheek and I have to be more sensitive to that. I’m sorry to anybody I offended. That was the last thing I ever wanted to do.”
