Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were married tonight in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy. They said their vows at Forte di Belvedere, a 16th-century hill-top fortress near the Arno river. Kim’s sisters made up the bridal party and Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle.
In a local Florence newspaper Kanye called the city, “one of the most beautiful cities in the world, for me the most beautiful in Europe.” He also mentioned that baby North West may have been conceived there while they visited for Kim’s 32nd birthday.
Apparently Kim and Kanye were very involved in the planning of the wedding and not even her mother, Kris, was involved in shopping for a gown.
A week ago the entire Kardashian/Jenner clan gathered in Paris for pre-wedding fun before the big day. Some of the festivities included a brunch thrown by Valentino at his Château de Wideville. On Friday the family went to the Palace of Versailles that began with horse and carriage arrivals, included a performance by Lana Del Rey and ended with fireworks.
The wedding party flew to Florence from Paris this morning.
“He really is the most romantic, sweetest person I’ve ever met in my entire life,” Kim said about Kanye in December. We saw evidence of that as he filled an entire room with red roses on Valentine’s Day and then surprised her with a wall of white flowers on Mother’s Day.
“Now I have two very special people to live for,” Kanye said on Kris Jenner’s talk show. “A whole family to live for, a whole world to live for.”
We wish them the best of luck.
