On March 26, 2016, 103.5 WKTU Radio will kick off Spring 2016 with the event of the season. The Big Hits Throwback Fest at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey promises to be one of the best concerts of the year. The lineup is insane and includes an array of artists representing various musical genres taking you on a musical journey to some of your favorites jams from back in the day.

Scheduled to appear are Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, two-thirds of TLC, one of the best-selling R&B female groups of all time. Formed in Atlanta, Georgia with the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in the 1990s, the group became an instant sensation with such hits as ‘No Scrubs”, “Waterfalls”, “Creep” and too many others to mention. Also bringing the R&B swag is the legendary bad boy Bobby Brown who began his musical career as a member of New Edition before becoming a successful international solo artist in his own right. Bobby is best known for the wildly-popular “My Prerogative”, “Don’t Be Cruel”, “Every Little Step” and “Tenderoni”. With his vast repertoire of hits, his performance is sure to be electric.

On the hip-hop front, Jeffrey Atkins, better known as Ja Rule will be rockin’ the mic. His many collaborations with artists such as Ashanti on “Always on Time”, Jennifer Lopez on “I’m Real”, Fat Joe and Jadakiss on “New York” and Lil’ Mo on “Put it On Me” made him a household name and you can bet Ja will take the concert to a whole new level. Taking hip hop even further will be East Orange, New Jersey’s own Naughty by Nature, the trio who made it popular to be down with “O.P.P.” and chant “Hip Hop Hooray” in the 1990s. Also repping for the genre is Rob Base, one half of the super-duo Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. No-one will ever forget their platinum-selling “It Takes Two” which ranked #37 on VH1’s list of 100 greatest hip hop songs. Rob will be performing, no doubt, in tribute to the late DJ E-Z Rock who passed away in 2014 but we’re certain his presence will be felt throughout the arena.

Bringing you a little island flavor is the soca artist from St. Vincent, Kevin Lytlle, who had a mega-hit with “Turn Me On” featuring dancehall superstar Spragga Benz. The song initially enjoyed several weeks on the top 10 UK singles chart before becoming a worldwide success and reaching No. 4 in the U.S. Kevin’s set is sure to make you want to board a flight to the Caribbean. And ladies….please be sure to catch the vocal and pelvic stylings of the amazing and ultra-sexy Mr. “Boombastic” himself, Shaggy!! The Kingston, Jamaica native and reggae artist has had a successful career with hits such as “Oh Carolina”, “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel”. His energetic and sensual performance should not be missed.
