Kylie Jenner Faces The Wrath Of Amandla Stenberg Over Cultural Appropriation

It looks like Kylie Jenner is in the middle of yet another ‘cultural appropriation’ debate.

This time, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star posted a picture of herself in a crop top with her hair braided in cornrows, and actress Amandla Stenberg wasted no time in venting her frustrations with the Instagram post.

The Hunger Games actress commented on Jenner’s post, “When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter.”

Stenberg has a history with this issue, as her video about cultural appropriation, “Don’t Cash Crop On My Cornrows,” went viral on YouTube with over one million views back in April.

In the video she explains, “Appropriation occurs when a style leads to racist generalizations or stereotypes where it originated but is deemed as high-fashion, cool or funny when the privileged take it for themselves,” so we can understand why she had a problem with Jenner’s picture!

Jenner responded to Stenberg’s comment with her own shade, but it proved to be completely irrelevant to the actress’ point. Jenner shot back with “Mad if I don’t. Mad if I do.. Go hang w Jaden or something,” referencing their mutual friend Jaden Smith.

This is a bit confusing as an insider confirmed to that Jenner thinks that Stenberg’s criticism is “an unprovoked attack,” that could have been discussed privately.

If the reality star didn’t like the public bashing and would have preferred a private conversation, why did she publically respond?
