Andrew Greene, a lawyer and an investment banker filed a lawsuit against the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street. He claims that the character, Nicky “Rugrat” Koskof, was based off of him and it defamed him.
Steven Locke, the U.S. Magistrate Judge, has ordered Leonardo DiCaprio to testify in court in the lawsuit by Greene against Paramount Pictures Corp. The film consists of Greene’s claimed character, Rugrat, engaging in illegal and “morally questionable acts.”
Rugrat is also portrayed as being close friends with Jordan Belfort in the film. Belfort was played by DiCaprio, and was known to be a stock swindler who cheated investors millions of dollars in the 1990’s.
Greene is seeking $25 million from the film and DiCaprio himself, since he also produced the film.
