At least seven people have been killed and over 48 have been injured in the latest attacks in London at 10pm Saturday.
At 10:08pm, police officers responded to a call about a white van on London Bridge. The van came off the road onto the footpath hitting five or six pedestrians.
Three men got out of the van and produced knives. They started attacking people.
Witnesses heard the men shout “This is for Allah”. The men then ran to Borough Market and started entering random bars and restaurants, stabbing people.
Within eight minutes, police arrived on the scene.
The three men, who were wearing fake suicide bomb vests, were shot dead by eight police officers outside a pub. One bystander was also shot. The police officers fired 50 rounds.
According to Scotland Yard, the 50 rounds were “An unprecedented amount”.
Twelve people were arrested in Barking, east London, following a raid at an apartment belonging to one of the three attackers on Sunday.
Eight were men and four were women. It is also reported that controlled explosions were being carried out at the apartment.
President Donald Trump tweeted his support for London.
“Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U.K., we will be there – WE ARE WITH YOU. GOD BLESS!”
He also spoke of the travel ban and how “extreme vetting” will take place in the future for those coming in to the U.S.
“We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!,” he tweeted.
