Sadly there is terrible news from Kentucky. One student was shot and injured when another student opened fire inside Fern Creek High School on Sept. 30.
A high school in Louisville, Kentucky has been put on lockdown after a shooter reportedly shot and injured a student at around 1pm in Fern Creek High School on Sept. 30, reports CNN.
A name has not been released because the shooter is under 18 years of age, but he is being described as a male around 6’5″.
The alleged shooter is said to be 15 or 16 years old and was wearing a grey hoodie and black pants with a stripe down the side. Police are still unsure if the shooter is a student at Fern Creek High School.
The student who was shot is suffering from non-life threatening injuries and expected to survive.
“He has been transported and been unified with his family,” Jody Duncan, the public informations officer at the the Louisville Jefferson County Emergency Management reported HollywoodLife
A second school, nearby Fern Creek Elementary School, has been put on lockdown as well.
These school shootings have gotten out of hand. Why are children being faced with terrifying events like this at a place where they should be safe. Our thoughts go out to the shooting victim, his family, and the students of Fern Creek at this time.
