If you haven’t yet seen Marvel’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron, then you’re in for a bit of a spoiler. Secondly, how could you have not seen every single second of that cinematic perfection? That’s beside the point though. The immediate question that needs answering is when will Marvel fans ever see the Hulk again? Well, not even actor Mark Ruffalo, who played the smashing green giant knows, but he does know a little something that is actually pretty huge!

At the end of the second film, when the Avengers save the world for a second time in the cinematic Marvel universe, the Hulk is seen in an aircraft, rejecting a message from his love interest Black Widow. His destructive capabilities become too much for Doctor Bruce Banner to handle, so as it is interpreted he exiles himself out of guilt, resulting in a big question mark concerning his whereabouts and future with the infamous gang of vigilantes.

However, earlier this summer Mark Ruffalo was spotted on the set of Captain America: Civil War, sparking rumors that the Hulk would indefinitely be rejoining the world’s favorite super heroes. Hopefully, fans didn’t get their hopes up too high because Ruffalo recently confirmed that the Hulk would not be back from who knows where, in time for the next Cap chapter. Instead, he revealed something that has everyone scratching their chins and thumbing through old comic books to figure out.

Apparently, the Hulk was originally in the Civil War script, but the writers intend to save him. In an interview with Bad, Ruffalo told the publication, “I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end they evidently believed that the reveal of what happened to the Hulk was too big, and Marvel wants to save that information for later…Who knows, maybe the Hulk will never return. They want to keep the revelation of what happened to him a secret, because it’s something really big.”

That’s pretty exciting, and not to mention smart! Not that I would ever doubt the intelligence of the writers and magic-makers over there at Marvel, but Civil War probably isn’t the movie to delve into the complications of Banner, given the battle that is going to ensue between Cap and Iron Man. Besides, it is more than likely that we will see the Hulk again and we will certain have our fill of characters to look forward to in Civil War. The gang includes Vision, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man…and oh yeah, that one hero that can climb walls and stuff. Spider-Man!
