Actress Megan Fox is joining the cast of Fox sitcom, New Girl!
Fox is set to play a sales rep who rents out Jess’s room (Zooey Deschanel’s character) while Jess is on jury duty.
The jury duty plotline will span just four episodes to allow Deschanel maternity leave for her newborn. The 35-year-old actress just had her first child with husband, Jacob Pechenik in July, just a month after saying their vows.
Fox will appear in the sixth episode of the show’s upcoming fifth season, scheduled to premiere in Jan. 2016, according to the show’s press release. Her character, Reagan, is described as “a gorgeous, straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town on business and shakes things up in the loft.”
For those of you who have been missing out on the hilarious show all these years, New Girl is about a quirky teacher (Deschanel) who answers a roommate-wanted ad and moves into a Los Angeles Loft apartment with three guys. All of whom appear to be nutty in their own special ways. One of them, Nick (Jake Johnson), becomes her on-again, off-again boyfriend throughout the show.
“It’s insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it,” Liz Meriwether, the show’s executive producer, said about Megan Fox. “I’ve been a fan of her comedic skills since This is 40, and I’m so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part—she’s the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up.”
29-year-old Fox is best known for her roles in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Transformers.” This will be her first major TV role in about a decade, having previously starred regularly on ABC’s Hope & Faith.
Don’t worry TMNT fans! Fox will be taking on the show and keeping her work with the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” sequel.
