This isn’t good, Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps has reportedly been arrested earlier today on Sept.30 for DUI.
His blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal level. The swimmer was pulled over for going 84 MPH in a 45 MPH zone in Baltimore, Maryland, TMZ reports. When he was pulled over, police realized he was noticeably drunk, and he was booked on DUI.
He was driving a white Land Rover when arrested. Officials told TMZ Phelps was given a field sobriety test and failed terribly.
He was booked for DUI at a nearby station, and was charged for crossing double lane lines, excessive speeding as well as DUI.
This is Michael Phelps second DUI charge, as his first was in 2004, also in Maryland. He was 19 at that time, and plead guilty in exchange for 18 months probation. He was also fined $250, ordered to pay $55 in court costs and ordered to attend a victim impact panel meeting sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, reports HollywoodLife.
“I recognize the seriousness of this mistake,” Michael said in court ten years ago. “I’ve learned from this mistake and will continue learning from this mistake for the rest of my life.”
